Duties: There is a vacancy for a research fellow to join a lively research group, headed by Dr Mariya Moosajee, investigating the disease mechansims of RDH12 retinal disease in both in vivo and in vitro models and testing novel therapies. The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties including stem cell cultures (establishing induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) colonies and differentiation into photoreceptors), molecular biology techniques, dose-response experiments, histology, electron microscopy, genotyping, and immunocytochemistry
Requirements: Candidates must have a PhD and experience of stem cell, molecular biology, electron and confocal microscopy, Omics sample processing and data analysis. Additional skills may be required for testing in vivo models, and necessary training will be provided where necessary
