Position: Automation Technician/Assistant

Duties: Developing and validating automated methods on different types of integrated and customized automation workstations such as Tecan EVO; Preparing media, inoculum, and other reagents used for high throughput strain cultivation; Preparing next generation sequencing (NGS) samples for DNA re-sequencing and RNA sequencing; Prototyping automated workflows in SBS format lab ware using 8-channel pipettes; Troubleshooting and optimizing protocols in collaboration with domain experts; Maintaining robotics and liquid handling equipment
Requirements: Technical education in automation, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or similar field; Experience and/or interest in microbiology and biochemistry is needed. In particular, the candidate should have extensive experience in suspension cultivation of microbes and/or mammalian cells; Experience and/or interest in analytical chemistry and NGS is needed. In particular, it would be desirable if the candidate had experience in metabolomics, fluxomics, proteomics, DNA re-sequencing, and RNA sequencing sample handling protocols; Competence in script based programming (e.g. Python) preferably applied to automation systems is recommended; Experience programming and operating liquid handlers and other automated laboratory equipment is desired (but not necessary); Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team is a must

Apply online The AutoFlow group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (CFB), at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), is seeking a skilled laboratory technician to assist with automated cell screening, analytical chemistry, and next generation sequencing workflows. DTU Biosustain is focused on developing the next generation of cell factories and engineered micro-organisms deploying advanced metabolic engineering techniques for bio sustainability, agriculture, and human health applications. AutoFlow Group The AutoFlow group at CFB translates, builds, and maintains automated workflows for high-throughput microbial cell factory development using various robots and liquid handling equipment. Core workflows within AutoFlow including automated strain construction, strain screening, and sample handling for multi-omics analysis. The AutoFlow group collaborates extensively other scientific and technical groups within the CFB including software engineering, genome engineering, analytics, and next generation sequencing. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The place of work will be the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (CFB) at Building 220, Kemitorvet, 2800 Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
