Position: Senior Manager Origination Public Sector
Institution: New Reinsurance Company Ltd.
Location: Zürich, Switzerland
Duties: Origination; Identify markets and acquire clients and brokers targets for innovative risk transfer mechanisms for the public sector (parametric and non-parametric reinsurance solutions, cat bonds, impact bonds, resilience bonds, etc.); Present and discuss economic value propositions of different risk transfer mechanisms to involved stakeholders and develop solutions together; Establish and expand existing networks in the public sector area (supranational organizations, municipalities, governments etc.) on innovative risk transfer solutions including keynote presentations in conferences; Plan, carry out and follow up on client and broker visits, including analysis of pain points, solutions and value propositions; Respond to request for proposals; Inform and coordinate with responsible Munich Re group stakeholders; Cultivate relevance of Munich Re and C@P products towards target clients and brokers Transaction management; Answer to and follow up on client/broker inquiries in a timely and professional manner; Lead deal teams across departments (Analytics, Structuring, and non-C@P units e.g. Underwriting, Client Management, Claims) for new, renewed or restructured C@P transactions; Manage the related transaction processes, including evaluation, underwriting, structuring, due diligence and negotiation of transactions; Coordinate and communicate with Munich Re, NewRe and external stakeholders during the transaction process
Requirements: University degree in economics or a quantitative discipline; At least 6-8 years’ experience in the insurance/reinsurance and/or within the field of innovative financing mechanisms within the public sector; Strong presentation and negotiation skills; Deep understanding of public sector clients’ needs and innovative risk transfer solutions including their economic value propositions; Strong team player in multi-locations/global environment with the ability to both lead and participate in deal teams; Ability to identify and develop business opportunities with an entrepreneurial spirit; Experience in bringing new risks to the market; Excellent project and transaction management skills, from origination to closing of deals; Fluent spoken and written business English; German or another European languages an advantage; Readiness to travel
