The group is embedded in "Section for Ecosystem Based Marine Management" in Lyngby, The section has 35 employees and focuses on interdisciplinary research improving our understanding of marine ecosystems and how they are managed. Important tasks include the development of new research and management projects, publication of results in peer reviewed scientific journals, popular Danish, Swedish or Norwegian journals and technical reports, and innovation in fisheries technology and management to reduce conflicts between fisheries and PETS in collaboration with fishers and other stakeholders.
