Position: PhD Student - Bi-functional catalysts for alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers

Duties: Your work will be focused on the development of bi-functional catalysts for the cathodic and anodic reaction of alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers, respectively; Ultimately, the most active and stable bi-functional catalyst will be implemented in a unitized reversible fuel cell (URFC) device using advanced anionic membranes developed by the research partner at the University of Yamanaschi; During your PhD you will interact extensively with your collegues within the electrochemistry department, the Swiss Light Source and international collaborators
Requirements: Completed study in physical chemistry, chemical physics, physics or a closely related discipline, preferably with experience in electrochemistry and talent for experimental work. You have an active interest in experimental work and take the initiative for new solutions; being able to work independently in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team. Good communication skills in English are required
