Requirements: Background in Bioinformatics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or other related disciplines are welcome. The Candidate should have a solid training in programming (at least two-three courses of 30 hours with equivalent time of coding). The candidate will have to demonstrate that he or she conducted projects (in Java, C, R, Python or others) within the context of classes at University; Good communication skills in English is compulsory
   
Text: Master Internship in Bioinformatics Location: Rome, Italy Staff Category: Internship/Trainee Contract Duration: Minimum of 6 months up to a year Grading: Paid internship Closing Date: 1 August 2019 Reference Number: RM00082 The EMBL Epigenetics and Neurobiology Unit in Monterotondo (near Rome, Italy) is seeking a highly motivated student to join the Bioinformatics Services of EMBL Rome for a master internship. Your role The student will learn how to set up pipelines for sequencing data analysis. The first aim will be to implement reproducible research solutions through the development of interactive reports in R markdown, HTML and CSS. This will require learning the main sequencing data processing techniques such as ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq and ATAC-Seq. The student is not only expected to build reports but also to extend existing pipelines proposing accurate solutions. This will involve a training in using the GALAXY technology and Git. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn how to perform bioinformatics on one of the most powerful High Performance Computing (HPC) system in Europe but also, according to progression, to be initiated to the use of singularity dockers and conda environment.
