Duties: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Catering Department at the Department of Space and Climate Physics. This is a busy and friendly team that provides daily lunches, afternoon refreshments and catering for various functions. The position is permanent and is offered on a part-time basis. Working on a part-time basis can be considered for a minimum of 14.6 hours per week. The successful candidate will help the Chef with basic preparation of food, cooking and serving in our canteen. They will also assist the Chef at functions with the set up and clear up. At the end of the day they will need to ensure that equipment has been cleaned, dishes washed and waste food has been disposed hygienically
Requirements: The postholder should have previous experience working in a kitchen environment and have the ability to maintain high levels of hygiene within the workplace. They should also be able to communicate clearly and deliver excellent customer service. As our location is in the Surrey Hill it is essential that the postholder is able to drive as the site cannot be accessed by public transport
