Duties: UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) is searching for an innovative and enterprising person to fill the role of Technician to support the teaching and research activities in the department. The Research and Teaching Support Technician will provide technical support to research groups and teaching laboratories within CEGE; create, develop and modify work to a high degree of accuracy from technical drawings or verbal explanations; and carry out the regular first line maintenance tasks or repairs on project equipment and resources. The postholder will also assist with training of apprentices and be responsible for helping to ensure a safe working environment for all users
Requirements: The successful candidate will have served a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and have experience of techniques relevant to manufacturing and testing, and extensive mechanical workshop skills. The ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, procedures and engineering drawings/specifications, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, innovative, and collegiate culture are also essential

CEGE is searching for an innovative and enterprising person to fill the role of Technician to support the teaching and research activities in the department. The Research and Teaching Support Technician will provide technical support to research groups and teaching laboratories within CEGE; create, develop and modify work to a high degree of accuracy from technical drawings or verbal explanations; and carry out the regular first line maintenance tasks or repairs on project equipment and resources. The postholder will also assist with training of apprentices and be responsible for helping to ensure a safe working environment for all users.
