Position: Data Center Engineer (m/f)

Duties: Ensure coherence and coordination of project strategies and activities; Support project managers in the technical implementation and follow-up of infrastructure works; Single point of contact for users of CDC (Centre de Calcul) in Belval and on other campuses of the University; Monitor availability and performance of the CDC infrastructure (electricity distribution, cooling, access control, monitoring tools, fire protection, video monitoring); Coordinate supplier's maintenance and repairs on CDC infrastructure with respect of business objectives and constraints; Propose improvements of current infrastructures in order to enhance performance and availability; Maintain CDC’s monitoring tool of infrastructures; Ensure that strict policies are respected by all player in the CDC environment; Manage cost redistribution to all users of CDC; Work with the CDC team for the development of new projects in Data Center
Requirements: Graduated Engineer or equivalent with 5 years of experience in similar projects; Strong experience in electrical power distribution design and operation; Strong experience in HVAC design and operation; Strong experience in design of Data Center environment; Experience in ITM security constraints (fire detection, intrusion detection, etc); Strong experience with Data Center operations, constraints, monitoring and improving; Strong experience with Data Center monitoring tools working in a TCP/IP environment (environmental control, access control, video surveillance); Good understanding of the requirements of modern IT infrastructures and needs in a Data Center; Real team player used to evolve in a high-level expectations environment; Used to work with GMAO/CMMS tools; Excellent problem solving skills in very complex environment; Open minded to innovative solutions; Strong communication skills, presenting highly technical issues verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels in the organization; Ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives; Fluent in French and English, German or Luxembourgish is an asset

The University of Luxembourg is seeking to make an appointment within its IT Department for the following position: Data Center Engineer (m/f) Réf: AC-120004 Permanent contract, 40 hrs per week Employee status The IT Department of the University is responsible for providing IT services to its approx. 8000 users. It operates a modern infrastructure and our services are centered around key technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Checkpoint and F5 products. This role will report into the Team Leader Infrastructure and Architecture. The Data center engineer will closely collaborate with the Infrastructure and Architecture team and the stakeholders present in the CDC.
