Position: Teaching Associate (Comparative Anatomy Demonstrator)

Duties: You may teach clinically relevant comparative anatomy across any of the Medical, Dental, Veterinary, Applied Anatomy or Functional and Clinical Anatomy programmes, and will be expected to contribute substantially by demonstrating comparative anatomy in practicals. You may also contribute to the delivery of outreach activities and external courses that are based in the dissecting room. An interest in anatomy teaching methodologies and a willingness to participate in the organisation and assessment of courses, is an important part of the role
Requirements: Good honours biomedical science degree in an anatomical or related subject. Relevant postgraduate research degree (or equivalent professional qualification/experience) or be working towards one. Sound knowledge of comparative anatomy; an ability to teach both human and veterinary anatomy. Experience of undergraduate teaching. Knowledge of current teaching methods. Ability to work independently but at the same time take direction from supervisors. Ability to set priorities, and manage time efficiently. Ability to identify own training needs and to respond appropriately. Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work. Ability to adapt and respond to changing needs in teaching and administration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, other staff, and the wider public. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Proven ability in and commitment to team working and efficient and effective contribution to the completion of shared tasks. Strong ability for liaison with colleagues from other disciplines and ability to collaborate in teaching with a diverse group of academic and support staff. Interest in Education. Ability to respond to staff and student feedback on teaching
