Position: Human Resources Officer

Duties: Active contribution in the organization and execution of all general activities of the HR Department ensuring compliance with the relevant Cyprus and EU legislations. Responding to all internal and external inquiries and provides the necessary support in HR related matters. Supports the coordination and execution of the Institute’s Staffing and Recruitment & Selection activities. Contributes in the Onboarding and Induction and Orientation procedures ensuring the smooth adjustment of new staff members. Contributes in the execution of the Performance Management System, etc
Requirements: Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or Master of Business Administration with focus on Human Resources Management or equivalent. Good knowledge of the EU and Cyprus employment legislation. Excellent IT skills in MS Office as well as ability in the use of other software and systems. Excellent knowledge and command of the Greek and English languages both verbally and in writing. High level organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to multitask changing priorities with limited supervision in a high-pressure work environment. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adopt in a multicultural environment. Ability to communicate with discretion and to maintain confidentiality in all matters

CYI_HRO_19_06) Reference Number CYI_HRO_19_06 Job Description The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a non-profit research and educational institution with a strong scientific and technological orientation, emphasizing international collaborations and cross-disciplinary research and post graduate education. CyI, through its established research centers, addresses challenging issues that are important at both the regional and international levels. Many of its research activities are being carried out in partnership with leading institutions in the respective thematic areas. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources and as a member of the HR team, the successful candidate will contribute in the execution of all HR related activities. The appointment will be on a full time basis, initially for a fixed-term period, with the potential of renewal depending on performance and Institute needs. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be carrying out the following activities Active contribution in the organization and execution of all general activities of the HR Department ensuring compliance with the relevant Cyprus and EU legislations Responding to all internal and external inquiries and provides the necessary support in HR related matters Supports the coordination and execution of the Institute’s Staffing and Recruitment & Selection activities Contributes in the Onboarding and Induction and Orientation procedures ensuring the smooth adjustment of new staff members Contributes in the execution of the Performance Management System as well as in all Training and Development activities of the Institute Actively participates in the development, implementation and communication of all HR related initiatives, projects and procedures Handles visa applications for international staff Contributes in the activities of all types of leave and benefit processes and queries Enters personnel related data to the relevant HR databases and prepares accurate information reports as necessary Contributes in the coordination of all personnel related events Maintains and develops the Institute’s personnel filing system Job Requirements Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or Master of Business Administration with focus on Human Resources Management or equivalent. Previous experience in an education/research Institution will be considered an advantage Good knowledge of the EU and Cyprus employment legislation. Excellent IT skills in MS Office as well as ability in the use of other software and systems.
