Position: Lecturer Practitioner in Quantity Surveying

Duties: To undertake teaching, research and other academic activities within our Faculty. Carry out teaching/practical sessions and related activities across a range of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, drawing on own area(s) of expertise. Design and develop teaching material across a range of modules and courses in the subject(s), at a range of levels. Contribute to curriculum development. Deliver practical/professional practice based activities, providing advice, guidance and support to students, including demonstrations where appropriate, etc
Requirements: Degree or relevant professional qualification. Extensive post qualification CPD. Relevant commercial and/or professional experience. Specialist practice or clinical experience. Evidence of successful entrepreneurial activity/income generation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure. About the role: Based in our Faculty of Science and Engineering, the School of Engineering and the Built Environment offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in architecture, civil engineering, construction/project management, quantity and building surveying, town planning and mechanical engineering. We’re seeking to appoint a Lecturer Practitioner to teach quantity surveying to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. As a Quantity Surveyor who is chartered or capable of achieving chartered status within 18 months, you’ll have experience of working as a quantity surveyor or similar role. Under the supervision of the Head of School, you’ll be responsible for teaching quantity surveying and other related subjects. You’ll be committed to developing a consultancy profile and prepared to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research/consultancy team in the area of Future Cities.
