Position: Professor and Head of Subject in Ore Geology
Institution: Luleå University of Technology
Location: Luleå, Norrbotten County, Sweden
Duties: Normally, Professors at Luleå University of Technology are involved in both education and research. Professors are expected to contribute to the University's development, to teach, to be responsible for obtaining external funding to the subject and to be available for management and administrative tasks. In addition, Professors are responsible for developing the whole or parts of research as well as the pedagogical activities within the subject, to monitor the international development of the subject and to supervise doctoral students, etc
Requirements: Academic leadership and potential to conduct and develop research in collaboration with the surrounding community. Prominent within their subject area and demonstrate an original and innovative scientific core in their work while attaining a high international standard, including a total scientific production corresponding to at least three doctoral dissertations. Documented experience in seeking and being granted external funding for research and development projects. Documented experience of supervising students at the third-cycle level and, unless there are special grounds, have been the principal supervisor for at least one doctoral student for up to them receiving their degree. The supervisory period shall include the majority of the student's third-cycle studies. Documented pedagogical proficiency and sound collaboration with the surrounding community in educational contexts for the purpose of contributing to the relevance of the education and preparation for working life. Ability to successfully obtain external research and development funding. Good knowledge in English, both spoken and written. Good ability and experience to cooperate internally (within a research group) and externally (with industry and researchers from other subjects). Good knowledge in the regional (ore) geology of Sweden
