Position: Energy Manager

Duties: You will be responsible for managing our consumption of energy including supplied and extracted water. This is a vitally important role for the University that will establish the current position, ensure the University is compliant with current legislation and policy on carbon emissions and energy usage. You will review the energy management policy and revise the strategy for reducing energy costs and environmental impact and develop a programme of energy saving opportunities, measuring and reporting on the savings achieved
Requirements: As an Energy Manager with a technical background you will preferably have a degree and a good understanding of electrical, mechanical and BEMS systems as well as considerable knowledge and experience of the energy industry on a wide property portfolio. You will have thorough knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to energy and carbon management coupled with an understanding of energy metering technologies. Thorough knowledge of all building mechanical services infrastructure including renewable technologies is also essential. You will be able to maintain accuracy whilst working under pressure to meet agreed deadlines. An effective communicator, you will be able to produce written reports with complex specialist information, tailored to a range of different audiences whilst your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels
