Duties: An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Institute of Global Health (IGH) for a Lecturer maternity cover/secondment post. Applicants should have a background in either health policy, health systems, public health or social science (or a combination of these). The primary focus of this post will be on teaching health policy/health systems/public health/social science to our undergraduate and postgraduate global health students (it is anticipated that 65% of the postholder's time would be devoted to teaching)
Requirements: The candidate should have a PhD in the area of Global Health related to health systems/health policy/public health/social science, or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications. A Master's degree in Health Policy, Global Health, Public Health or Social Science. A teaching qualification, such as a postgraduate certiificate of learning and teaching in HE, or the Arena qualification Higher Education Academy. Experience in teaching and research. It is expected that the applicant should have a good track record of teaching in global health, public health, health systems and/or health policy and social sciences as they relate to health

The primary focus of this post will be on teaching health policy/health systems/public health/social science to our undergraduate and postgraduate global health students (it is anticipated that 65% of the postholder's time would be devoted to teaching). IGH has strong research collaborations with other departments and institutes across UCL. The appointee will have the opportunity to participate in establishing new collaborations and strengthening existing ones in their fields of expertise. Close interaction with colleagues both within and outside of IGH (including our partner organisation in Malawi, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and China) should allow the post-holder to pursue a successful research programme leading to high-quality publications with excellent opportunities for future career development wiithin the world-renowned global health community at UCL. The post-holder will be based at the Institute for Global Health, 30 Guildford Street, London WC1N 1EH. This is a 12 month secondment post to cover a maternity leave.
