Duties: Applications are invited for the role of Research Coordinator within UCL’s BEAMS School (comprising the Faculties of Built Environment, Engineering Sciences, and Mathematical & Physical Sciences). The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating strategic research activities centred within the School, in particular the pan-UCL Space Domain and the UCL BEAMS Heritage Science & Engineering (HSE) Network. These activities bring together world-class researchers from diverse disciplines at UCL – together with relevant external stakeholders from academia, business, public sector and communities – to generate new research partnerships and collaborations, and communicate their impact
Requirements: The role holder must be efficient, organised and pay close attention to detail. In addition, the role requires interaction with many people both within and external to UCL, thus a professional attitude, a willingness to help, and an ability to remain tactful and assertive are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined. It is also essential that the person appointed has: the ability to manage and prioritise tasks, especially during periods where there is a heavy workload; experience of organising and facilitating meetings, conferences or workshops, and an understanding of the challenges of bringing together individuals from diverse disciplines and professional backgrounds

The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating strategic research activities centred within the School, in particular the pan-UCL Space Domain and the UCL BEAMS Heritage Science & Engineering (HSE) Network. These activities bring together world-class researchers from diverse disciplines at UCL ? together with relevant external stakeholders from academia, business, public sector and communities ? to generate new research partnerships and collaborations, and communicate their impact. The Research Coordinator will work under the direction of the Co-Chairs of the HSE Network and the Director and Deputy-Director of the UCL Space Domain. The MAPS Faculty Operations Manager will provide professional services support to the post-holder. The appointee will also work closely with members of the Network and Domain Steering Groups, research facilitators and coordinators within the Office of the Vice-Provost (Research), as well as communications staff in each BEAMS faculty.
