Position: Prospect Research Officer

Duties: Working closely with the Director, Development you will assist in the development of a comprehensive prospect identification and research program to support strategic fundraising objectives. Your role primarily will be to identify and research high profile individuals and organisations as potential donors to the University. This will include collecting, recording and analysing information from various sources, including Curtin’s alumni and online news databases, and maintaining accurate records
Requirements: Completion of a relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training. Advanced internet researching skills, with the ability to source and obtain information from a variety of sources, including online news databases and company databases. Demonstrated attention to detail in recording, evaluating and communicating complex research information including the ability to design and run queries to draw information from the CRM database and the ability to train others in research and database skills. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication, including a demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, authoritative and persuasive reports, proposals and submissions. Demonstrated project and results-focused organisation skills, including high level of analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and the ability to manage tasks and requests with competing deadlines. Advanced computer skills, encompassing word-processing, spreadsheets, relational databases and internet research techniques. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team with the ability to develop relationships across all levels of an organisation

Your new role Working closely with the Director, Development you will assist in the development of a comprehensive prospect identification and research program to support strategic fundraising objectives. Your role primarily will be to identify and research high profile individuals and organisations as potential donors to the University. This will include collecting, recording and analysing information from various sources, including Curtin’s alumni and online news databases, and maintaining accurate records. You will also develop research strategies and creative approaches to identify new opportunities, prepare succinct reports and develop prospect profiles for fundraising staff, including independent investigation of biographical and financial information. The Prospect Research Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate donor and prospect information in the Raiser’s Edge CRM database, and preparing reports, briefing notes and recommendations based on analysis of data sets as well as individual record analysis, which supports the Development team and other University staff.
