Duties: The Operation Manager lead the Operations and Stores teams in supporting the Division of Biosciences in the areas of Health and Safety, building management, security, logistics and laboratory equipment, with particular emphasis on areas covered by statutory compliance. The Operations Manager also fulfils the role of Divisional Safety Champion and with the Area Safety Officers, provides Health and Safety support and guidance across the Division, including facilitation of all College initiatives for Health and Safety and statutory compliance, such as periodic audit, fire evacuation, waste management, emergency planning, hazardous material management and insurance inspections
Requirements: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of operational management in the higher education sector or service providing organisation. Candidate must have a good comprehensive understanding of safety legislation and its application in higher education and in the broader community. Candidate must have a good understanding of Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Safeguarding processes and application. Candidate must demonstrate successful line management experience and development of staff with proven team leadership and motivational skills; and strong skills in finance and budget management

We are currently seeking an Operations Manager. The Operation Manager lead the Operations and Stores teams in supporting the Division of Biosciences in the areas of Health and Safety, building management, security, logistics and laboratory equipment, with particular emphasis on areas covered by statutory compliance. The Operations Manager also fulfils the role of Divisional Safety Champion and with the Area Safety Officers, provides Health and Safety support and guidance across the Division, including facilitation of all College initiatives for Health and Safety and statutory compliance, such as periodic audit, fire evacuation, waste management, emergency planning, hazardous material management and insurance inspections. Additionally the role holder is responsible for liaison between the Division and Estates in respect of building upkeep and projects, including input into the design and specification of major and minor refurbishment projects and the facilitation of such works.
