Position: KTP Research Associate - Building Performance Simulation and Data Analytics

Duties: UCL and DesignBuilder Software are coming together through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). DesignBuilder Software Ltd specialises in developing high-quality, easy-to-use and affordable simulation software tools for assessing the environmental performance of building designs. The KTP Associate will identify and review model calibration processes and data requirements in the the context of the main uses of operation stage model calibration and to design and create new software ‘DesignBuilder Plus’. Produce several innovation case studies and develop and deliver comprehensive training on the new software
Requirements: The post holder will have a PhD in Building Performance Analysis/Energy Model Calibration or closely related subject, be near to completion or have commensurate research experience – with or without specific relevant industry experience. Expertise of carrying out model calibration studies and advanced skills in building physics and energy modelling with a focus on advanced parametric analysis and model calibration are essential

DesignBuilder Software Ltd specialises in developing high-quality, easy-to-use and affordable simulation software tools for assessing the environmental performance of building designs. The KTP Associate will identify and review model calibration processes and data requirements in the the context of the main uses of operation stage model calibration and to design and create new software ?DesignBuilder Plus?. Produce several innovation case studies and develop and deliver comprehensive training on the new software. The post has funding for 30 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available. Key Requirements For appointment at Grade 7 the post holder will have a PhD in Building Performance Analysis/ Energy Model Calibration or closely related subject, be near to completion or have commensurate research experience ? with or without specific relevant industry experience.
