The primary objective of the post is to engage the best design expertise from practise in the education of architecture students at TalTech. This is necessary to ensure that the education provided to architects meets the requirements set out in the professional standard and that future and current architects are trained according to the needs of the labour market. In a wider scope, having distinguished practicing architects in the core staff is crucial for the school of architecture in order to 1) gain reliability as a provider of high-quality education among the profession and in the community of Estonian architects 2) attract the best student candidates to apply. The focus of the post is on the architectural design of new construction, both public buildings and residential buildings. The holder of the post is expected to develop further her/his network in the construction industry and public sector, thus supporting the societal engagement of the university and ensuring the work-life relevance of the education. The holder of the post will participate in the development of a shared pedagogic approach at the Academy of Architecture and Urban Studies. Professor's responsibilities • organizing, developing and teaching at TalTech in the field of contemporary architecture; • development of studies by applying up-to-date methodologies and adequate educational technology in the field of architecture; • development of educational cooperation with other research and development institutions in the construction sector and the public sector in Estonia and abroad; • participating in RDI activities of the school; • supervision of master's and bachelor's students; • development of other academic studies in the field. Related responsibilities • participation in the work of national and international professional organizations, decision-making bodies and committees.
