Duties: These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary. Potential Frequency 1. Monitors accuracy of college reporting systems for various databases including state and federal accountability data. Creates output and interpretations where applicable and more in depth analyses when necessary. Identifies any data integrity issues and determines corrective course of actions where applicable. y 40% 2. Develops, organizes, analyzes, and maintains data used for the creation of the College Fact Book. Daily 20% 3. Extracts, manipulates, and processes data utilizing a variety of resources; performs basic and complex statistical computations and analyses, for internal stakeholders. Daily 20% 4. Provides research data requested by outside agencies. Daily 20% 5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. As Required
Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in statistics or in a related field to assigned area. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: Three (3) years experience in statistical analysis or applied research or related experience. * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above. Knowledge: Computers and related software applications; Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Proficiency with SAS, SPSS, or other statistical software; Research design principles and practices; Current issues in higher education; Assessment, evaluation, and measurement principles; Data extraction and transformation; Report writing practices; Advanced mathematical and statistical methods and principles; Understanding query writing principles; Skills: Designing research methods and evaluation models; Planning, creating, and maintaining databases; Formatting and generating reports; Using survey tools; Performing mathematical and statistical calculations; Extracting and transforming data and information; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction; Physical: Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions; Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
