Position: Electrical Technician (Development and Fabrication Tec 4/5)

Duties: ISR-5 is looking for a highly motivated Electrical Technician to assist in the test and development of custom instrumentation for various space-based detection systems. Responsibilities include: Development and execution of test and integration procedures for high reliability space instruments; Design, test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, including complex measurements on sub-assemblies or fully integrated custom systems; Test and characterization of precise and sensitive diodes, amplifiers, sensors; Design and assembly of ground support equipment, cables, test fixtures; Support of environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration and shock testing
Requirements: Minimum Job Requirements: This position will be filled at either the Development and Fabrication Tec 4 OR Development and Fabrication Tec 5 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level. Development and Fabrication Tech 4 ($60,400 - $95,900); Ability to work well as part of a close team as well as the ability to work independently; Experience in the set up and operation of specialized or standard test equipment to test and characterize the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems; Experience in the assembly of circuitry for electronic systems following engineering instructions, production specifications, and/or technical manuals; Ability to read schematics and interpret layout drawings; Ability to perform basic soldering and wiring jobs; Demonstrated creative solutions to technical issues; Demonstrated ability to follow documented electrical test and system integration procedures; Experience with general computer tools like spreadsheets and word-processing; This position requires a Q access authorization. Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Q clearance, which normally requires U.S. citizenship; Development and Fabrication Tech 5 ($72,500 - $118,200) In addition to the Job Requirements outlined above, qualification at the Development and Fabrication Tec 5 level requ i res: Demonstrated experience troubleshooting basic electronics AC/DC (Use of voltmeter/digitizer, oscilloscopes and multichannel analyzers); Experience in preparing and maintaining design, testing, or operational records and documentation; Experience producing electronic drawings or other graphics representing industrial control, and instrumentation using computer-aided design (CAD) software; Experience in independent circuit design of test fixtures and test support infrastructure; Desired Skills: Experience working with and caring for precision and/or critical electronic assemblies and components; Experience with design & analysis tools, such as schematic capture tools, analog or digital simulation tools; Experience with LabView software for test scripts, data reporting and graphical analysis; Experience with configuration management tools/processes and configuration controlled assemblies; Experience with formal verification & validation methods; Active DOE Q Clearance; Education Requirement for the Development and Fabrication Tec 4: Position typically requires an associate’s degree and six-to-eight years of experience in a specific field of technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education Requirement for the Development and Fabrication Tec 5: A recognized associate’s degree in electrical engineering or technical subject area, preferably a four year electrical engineering technology degree and/or ten plus years of experience in a related field of electronics; and preferably specialized training in advanced CAD software tools, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
