The school has recently re-introduced the subject of Physics into its academic portfolio to complement the wide variety of STEM subjects that it currently offers. This new post has been created in order to lead the development of the subject in teaching, research and consultancy within the school. We are seeking to appoint an Associate Teacher to assist in the delivery and development of the subject of Physics, contributing to the re-introduction of the subject within the university. You will provide support in the delivery of Physics lectures and practicals at Undergraduate levels; Foundation (Level 3) and Level 4. You will also assist the Director of Studies in the development of the Physics provision, including curriculum and portfolio developments at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional levels, alongside working to gain and maintain professional endorsement of the subject portfolio. They will also be expected to contribute towards the Faculty’s research portfolio through the undertaking of high quality research. Applicants are required to have a good honours degree in an area related to Physics. It would be beneficial to be a Chartered Physicist and a Member of the Institute of Physics. Good communication and organisational skills are essential attributes. They are also required to demonstrate a distinguished record of academic achievement in Physics or associated subjects.
