Position: Research Support Administrator

Duties: To provide key administrative support in relation to “post-award” research activity in the College of Medical & Dental Sciences’ (MDS) Research & Knowledge Transfer (R&KT) Office, delivering and further developing a portfolio of linked systems, processes and events, and to provide dedicated local administration for devolved funding awards
Requirements: Experience: Good educational standard equivalent to A-level, including Maths and English At least 2 years administrative experiences in a similar University/HEI/NHS role; Excellent IT skills using Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel; Demonstrated experience of database creation and maintenance Knowledge and understanding of UK HE funding mechanisms, strategies and priorities; Proven ability to analyse relevant trends and to summarise these in concise and accurate reports; Abilities and Skills; Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports on complex matters - including confidently making sense of and reworking, numerical data; Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail; Proven ability to plan and manage own workload in a highly efficient and effective manner, and to meet competing deadlines; working on a variety of complex issues simultaneously; Excellent inter-personal skills; ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff and external contacts; Assertive and able to think and act decisively; Ability to work proactively, independently and as part of a team; Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high degree of accuracy; Able to absorb and deploy new information quickly and accurately
