Position: Research Administrator Officer

Duties: The Research Administration Officer will support the Head of School, Head of Research, any relevant Research Committees and the REF Lead to develop a database of research impact areas with specific focus on impact case studies for REF 2021. The postholder will ensure that all publications are regularly uploaded in Pure and other research databases and provide support with Pure or other research databases; The postholder will provide support to academics at all stages of a grant, from proposal to delivery, and will support the implementation of the College Research Strategy by liaising with the College Research Facilitators and School Directors of Research. The postholder will support academics with managing grants and projects by ensuring that key milestones and reports are delivered on time, and will interface with finance, HR, contracts and other stakeholders across the University. The postholder will participate in committees related to research grants, will prepare papers for the committees, take minutes and will organise events related to both grant proposals and grant delivery; A key component of the position is to establish successful working relationships with academics and to interface with other teams across the University including Finance, HR, IT, Contracts, Grant Applications Support and Marketing. The Postholder will be a first point of contact for research collaborations with other Schools, Higher Education institutions, industry and other external partners, and provide a link with the University Grant Applications Team and provide support to academics on grant applications
Requirements: Proven knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education environment; Experience of managing multiple, complex projects; Strong networking and relationship building skills; Good communication skills; Excellent analytical skills; Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail; Confident user of IT and various software packages and willingness to train on specialised software
