Position: Hub Kitchen Porter

Duties: To work in all kitchens, back of house and yard areas as allocated on a rotated basis in an orderly efficient manner, maintaining the strictest standards of general cleanliness and assistance as specified in the standards of performance manuals. Part of the role could also include assisting and working within all other units H.A.S. as required
Requirements: It is essential that you have one year’s experience of working in a similar post, within a team in a food preparation environment. Experience of cleaning and sanitising work surfaces and kitchen utensils is also required. You may also be required to assist in unpacking deliveries, therefore any experience gained of delivery work, stock rotation or within a stores environment will be an advantage; Other required criteria are: a working knowledge of HASAW, COSHH, possession of a basic food safety qualification and a relevant manual handling certificate. Good communication skills are required as the ability to communicate on a daily basis with colleagues is essential as is the ability to work within a team. Knowledge of appropriate regulatory guidance is essential as is detailed knowledge of local Fire Procedures, Rules and Regulations to H.A.S and the University; Uniforms will be provided but it is essential due to Health and Safety that you maintain a high standard of personal hygiene whilst at work
