Position: Research Fellow in Forest Ecosystem Processes

Duties: The Research Associate will have a central role in designing, coordinating and undertaking forest ecosystem process research within cutting edge the Free Air CO2 Enrichment program of the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR-FACE). In this role, the incumbent will collaborate with others to ensure the success of the strategic aims of the BIFoR-FACE programme and participate in all aspects of research, from design over data collection, quality control and statistical evaluation through to presentation and publication results. The research associate will undertake field intensive measurements at the BIFoR-FACE site
Requirements: A PhD in a relevant area of environmental plant sciences, forest sciences, or ecosystem processes; preferentially with strong field work experience; Demonstrated initiative in completing scientific investigations from design through data collection and evaluation to publication; A record commensurate with stage of career of publications in well regarded peer reviewed academic journals; Excellent communication, written and presentation skills; Ability to assess and organise resources effectively

With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.
